Flags of our fathers
This is an extraordinary movie that gives us an inside into the Iwo Jima battle throught out the eyes of the post-war traumastism of three of its heros, known for raising the flag on the Mont Suribachi. At the same time, the movie highlights the gap between what happened in the field and the vision given back in the US homeland - and how it is possible to manipulate opinions based on some photos or partial information.
The movie ends with original photos of this battle - this had for effect to silence the entire cinema room until the end of the credits - a very powerful and moving moment.
